2016 proving to be another great Illinois Whitetail experience
-
With the Rut in full swing, I was blessed this year to take two beasts off of our property. Both weighing in over 250 on the hoof (265 & 275).
First one I called in with a grunt call and rattle bag from about 400 yards. He came out of the field and worked his way towards me in the woods that was on my left. Stopped him when he was 30 yards out and smoked him with my Hoyt Carbon Spyder. He piled up 40 yards away.
Second one came in at the last 3 minutes of legal shooting time. Stopped him 20 yards in front of me and he piled up 60 yards away. Kept eyes on him the whole time.
No better hunting satisfaction than to smoke a couple bruisers with a bow.

Nice work! Always fun seeing the big critters you have down there.
-
Congratulations on the bucks.

Last years buck back from the Taxidermist

They grow them big down in southern Illinois. A deer with 1/4 that size rack would get killed on opening day then placed across the hood and driven around like it is some kind of accomplishment around here. Good to see you got yours!

That is a monster compared to the skinny ones I see around here.
-
Congratulations, two very nice bucks. I love the corn feed bucks from Illinois.

Our property has blessed us this year! This beast fell to a muzzleloader at 65yrds last night.
-
Beautiful 4x right there!

You would think we are raising horses as big as these bruisers are getting. I wonder why we NEVER saw any this big 10-15 years ago?

Outstanding! Nice buck.
