Good stuff right there. Throw a chassis at it and some accessories and newbies are off to a nice start!
-
Check it out! Didn't realize they were doing this stock for the Howas too. That'd be a nice combo as I'm decidedly more of a traditional stock fan.

Is there a particular reason that you prefer the traditional stock over the chassis systems?I have been looking at the MDT HS3 with their buttstock that is fully adjustable or the XLR with the Tactical buttstock which provides full adjustability also.
I would probably utilize the Ergo tactical delux grip on either until I could make a custom grip with the most proper angle for me. Both chassis also have barrel channels that will float up to 1.30 barrel. The other option I have been looking at is the McMillans. I prefer their grip angle compared to the B&C, which is purely personal I suppose. It places my wrist in a much more comfortable angle.
-
@mamalukino I am more comfortable shooting a traditional style stock than a chassis that feels like an AR15. Just preference.
-
I too didn't realize they had that stock in howa inlets!
That would be my preference also. Just as Travis, I did the chassis thing, but these days prefer traditional type stocks. Chassis are pretty cheap, but for the price of this stock and a bed job, they're right there.
-
The price is great and the stock is definitely a step up from B&C 's other Howa stocks, considering the cheek riser.
The grip angle looks to be the same as the other medalists and the barrel channel will need to be opened up for barrels with heavier contours than Howa's heavy varmint.I'm speaking here as this all applies to my usage; however, for a starter rifle this would be hot shit.

Not a bad starter kit. Burn the factory barrel down and a year later spend another $1000-$1200 for a Benchmark and bedding. BOOM!

Great options.
If you can spend a bit more, PTG makes a DBM for Howa.
I put the PTG stealth bottom metal in my medalist stock for the Howa.
http://pacifictoolandgauge.com/howa-rifle-performance-parts/1602-howa-1500-weatherby-vanguard-short-action-sa-stealth-detachable-magazine-bottom-metal.htmlIt took about 10 minutes to fit, just cleaning the inlet up a bit.
I am using accurate and alpha mags without any issues.
A little bit more costly but metal.

A little bit more costly but metal.Makes sense for sure. I knew the PTG hardware was out there, wasn't sure, however, how fitment was or if it had to be inlet like M5 for a R700.
