To re-barrel my 308 or buy a new gun?
-
I've been wanting to hop on the 6.5 Creedmore band wagon here for a while and have been tossing these ideas back and forth in my head without any success. Obviously I could get a barrel for less than a rifle but will then have to buy tools such as an action vice and barrel nut wrench ( yes its a Savage). I also only have roughly 1000 rounds through my 308 barrel so there is plenty of life left.
Orrrrrrrrrr I could buy a shiny new rifle like a Tikka T3x in 6.5 already and move to there. My wallet says new barrel but my gun nut brain says I need a new rifle so I figured I'd bounce the idea off you reasonably minded folks. lol

Buy the Tikka and I bet you will sell the Savage within a couple of months.

Sell the savage, put that money together with the money you would have spent on the tikka and get TS Customs to build you a 6.5.
One is almost always better off with one nice gun than several ok guns.

Yup. Fantastic advice.

@dddoo7 Now there is an option I hadn't thought about. It does make since to have one nice custom gun then two factory guns.
