Hunting Vehicles Targeted by Thieves
-
Which vehicles hit were the favorite? At that gun show, twelve trucks were broken into and every one of them were Ford F-150s or 250s with pushbutton entry keypads on the doors. The thieves had knowledge of how to pop those keypads out of the door and disable them to unlock the trucks.

This. I have never understood people who put a "glock" or similar sticker on their vehicle. I support the NRA, but I wouldn't put a sticker for the NRA on my vehicle either.

Where I live, this advice extends to your home. I've been told by police from several different cities that homes are being targeted that display NRA, Marine Corps stickers etc.
As California clamps down firearms purchasers, criminals have ramped up thefts.
One tactic is to identify target shooters at public ranges using rifles they want, and stealing them during a range break when the shooter is down range, or marking their vehicle with a sharpie or colored dot in the parking lot. The marked vehicle is followed by gang members waiting in the parking lot and either broken into when it makes a stop after leaving, car jacked, or followed to the shooters home.I won't go to the public ranges around LA any longer. Luckily I found a private range that controls access to members only, and has steel out to 1000 yards. They actively ban people who violate the rules.
With the pending AR ban, and a database of registered AR's, it's only a matter of time before that list gets out and the home addresses are targeted.
