1/4 cup olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon finely grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/3 cup hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup chicken stock
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
salt & pepper
In saucepan, heat the oil. Add the garlic, ginger, red pepper and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until softened, approx. 7 minutes. Add the hoisin, soy and chicken stock, raise heat to med-high and boil until thickened. Stir in honey. Remove from heat and stir in butter until blended. Keep sauce warm.
Generously rub the steaks with oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill the steaks how you prefer.
Pour sauce over steaks or put in small dish to dish steaks in and serve with your favorite side dish. The sauce is a nice blend of sweet with a spicy kick at the end.
