"But he's so much better than Trump."
GJ is a liberal who's fiscal conseritive. Thats it. He cares no more about our gun rights than Obama or Hildabeast.

A liberal believes in initiating force against someone else to steal from them (i.e. taxes). A libertarian believes in the non-aggression principle: Do not initiate force against someone else. GJ may not own a gun but it doesn't mean he's willing to sacrifice the 2nd amendment.

He was an interesting candidate, his immigration policies ruined him for me.
In the past he has at the very least said he strongly favoured the second amendment.
"As a token of good faith, Austin gave Johnson a replica of George Washington’s flintlock pistol, to let him know that he has Austin’s full support in the general election. Tearing up on the front stage of the convention floor, Austin said to Gary as he presented him with the pistol, “You have my sword, and you have my gun.”
His blatant trashing/discarding of the firearm replica from a former competitor, who after losing to him, endorsed him, tells me all I need to know about Johnson.
He has a snowballs chance in hell of winning this election and if he really gave a shit about the Constitution he would withdraw and endorse Trump.
The SCOTUS is what is up for grabs and whoever wins this election will determine the future direction/survival of this country.
More to contemplate.
The so-called "Libertarian" candidates running third-party can almost be classified as leftists in Libertarian drag based on the stream of profoundly anti-Libertarian statements they've made throughout this election cycle.
"The five-shot rifle, that’s a standard military rifle; the problem is if you attach a clip to it so it can fire more shells and if you remove the pin so that it becomes an automatic weapon, and those are independent criminal offenses. That is when they become, essentially a weapon of mass destruction. The problem with handguns probably is even worse than the problem of the AR15."
