Luepold sues Lightforce (aka Nightforce )
-
Over patent infringement.
"The lawsuit is based on six patents for riflescope adjustments, internal optical mechanisms, and flip covers."
-
I wonder if this is like the AR drop in trigger suit. Where you gotta pay to play. What is Nightforce doing that no other scope company is doing? I mean there are only so many ways to make a scope, and flip caps.
-
Considering what it was like dealing with nightforce and their extremely arrogant ways... I would guess that Leupy approached them and said "hey, we've got these patents and we'd like to license them to you for a reasonable fee," and nightforce said something like "No, I don't think so" which was said in a way that sounded a lot like "go fuck yourself."
If nightforce is copying their designs, then I hope leupold puts a nice big boot print on their ass.
-
Absolutely.
Can't wait for all the NF fans to start bitching and defending NF.
-
Luepold has had a bit of a rough time recently. Supposedly Sig Sauer got a bunch of their guys.
But it seems like they're more interested in the hunting market anyways.
This isn't relevant really to the topic.
If Nightforce did steal Luepold designs then yea they deserve what they get.
-
I put leupold and sig in the same basket. I would use one if it was an emergency and I couldn't find anything else...but they won't get my money again.
-
Agreed. Though still, it's never fun when someone copies your work and refuses to pay you for it. That shouldn't be tolerated.
