mamalukinoEveryone is welcome to post on the Range report thread and everyone is invited to join in the monthly Challenge. You do not need to be participating in the monthly challenge to post your pictures and you are encouraged to jump in at anytime.
It may not be possible to shoot a firearm daily; however the option is there to shoot pellet or bb rifles or pistols. Set up a short range in your house, garage, apartment or your backyard and commit to shoot daily. Get out to a range or hunt when the opportunity arises.
Have fun and post your pictures!

I would love to do dot drills every day, but I am low on center x and it is backordered where I buy it. I have 3 bricks backordered...two for me and one for tunnel ratt, but who knows when it will come in.
Corn should be out in another 4-6 weeks. Then I will be able to do Centerfire dot drills once in a while!

Not bad for standing up leaning across a truck.
-
@rhyno Very nice; I like!!:smile:

Busy day again I am going to have to stop trying to make plans

Thirsty Thursday, August 4th's code is: LLT
Don't dehydrate, drink plenty H2O this Thursday.

Changed things up a bit this a.m. I have had this deck of 10 of spades for sometime and I thought today would be a good day to shoot 1 of the cards. The little spades by the 10s were hit on first shot each, so that made my day. Upper 10 was the last shot, the lower the 3rd from last.
-
Well...I had 3 complete misses today, but overall I think there were more of them completely inside the dots. I will clear one of these yet.
On a side note...I am now out of center x. I have one box of Midas+ I will try next and 3 boxes of R50. The R50 I showing in stock that I ordered this morning is now backordered into October.
-
Well I shot the bb pistol again today but also loaded up a few rounds of .308 hoping that by doing so I will be motivated to go shoot this weekend. My table top loading setup is rudimentary but it gets the job done.

It is First Shot Friday and not First Shot Miss, Friday; guess I got the Fridays confused.
-
Midas plus today. Didn't seem to do as well as centerx, but might be me.
-
You need to hold your mouth right when shooting rimfires for best success. ;)

A couple not very successful STS attempts.
-
Got to take out the .308 today not anything to jump up and down over but a solid moa group for what it's worth. 1.45" at 150 yds
-
Changed out the piston and rezeroed.
The inside of CCI #41 primer boxes provide nice little white squares for target manufacture.:smirk:
-
A little better today. 18 touching and 14 more than 1/2 in the dot.
I was frustrated about something else when I shot yesterday. I think it makes a difference...but I still feel like I am doing everything the same.
I also shot 5 rounds in the "A" and 5 at the coyote. I'm all out of Lapua now. I think I will clean the rifle and start playing with different types of lube on cci standard ammo to see if it will tighten up the cheap ammo some.

Sunday, August 7th's code is: ALA

Well had a good range session today. Shot a few of my bulk reloads for the AR and no pressure signs. Plus I didn't even have to adjust my zero, good enough for desert rats and steel plates.
So on my 700 I made a few adjustments. I raised the cheek pad and added a slip on Limbsaver pad. I also moved my scope into a better position for eye relief. The pad added a lot more comfort in recoil management plus another 1/2" LOP. What a difference. I could totally feel my NPA better.
I ran a dot drill. Although this isn't that great, its one of the best I've ever done. When I hit or made a close miss, it felt right. When I missed I knew it was me.
Then I went ahead and shot a quick 5 shot group. Pulled #1 and #4, weird that I pulled them into the same spot. But the 3 that hit, felt prefect when the gun went off.
Lastly, I can't go out without my boy. He loves shooting as much as I do. He's getting much better. Still a lot of little things for him to adjust and learn, but he's getting consistent.
I'll be fine tuning the cheek riser height, and switching to a grind to fit pad. If I can get this current stock to shoot correctly, I can save for a better one.
-
Sweet. :)
Regarding pulled rounds going to the same spot; that isn't uncommon. If you're "pulling" you're usually pulling the same way each time.
-
"Pulled" rounds can also be parallax issues with the scope. Are you sure parallax was adjusted as opposed to just using the parallax as a focus?
-
I also went to the range with the family today, my mom called up and wanted to shoot pistols.
-
First 2 low then 5 good ones. The first 1 key holed and I pulled the 2nd; took a deep breath and relaxed for the last 5. I need to shoot from a better position, these out the window shots are all front supported standing awkwardly in a confining corner. I wish I could take it outside off a bench.

Pretty sure I did. It was getting hot though when I shot this group. So mirage could
Have done something to do with it.

I bush hogged about 3 acres this morning. I always see plenty of rats there. Several of them got away, but these four did not!
