Taco Seasoning

  • Say goodbye to seasoning packets forever!

    1 tablespoon chili powder
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
    1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
    1/2 teaspoon paprika
    1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
    1 teaspoon sea salt
    1 teaspoon black pepper

Mix all together and store in airtight container. 2 1/2 - 3 tablespoons equals 1 normal seasoning packet.

  • We've done this for the last few years. Its fantastic. We also make our own BBQ rub in the same fashion.

If you're willing, please share the recipe :)

  • Made this tonight, good stuff a little spicy for me. No red pepper flakes next time I think.

Yeah I'd skip the red pepper flakes and perhaps cut the black pepper and chili powder in half. Add a bit more cumin. :) Your current mix, you could always add a half of the recipe into the current mix to tame stuff down, omitting the black pepper and red pepper flakes. Should calm it down for ya. Let me know how it hows :)

  • It'll be awhile before i make more tacos. But I will do.

They tasted great, just a bit to much bite for this Gringo.

  • Glad you liked it :)
