Do you have before and after charts? Thanks
-
@buddhaman No. This simply ensures there will be no undue expansion during repetitive seating over time.
-
@orkan I understand. The tensioning adjustment makes perfect sense. Why leave an unknown variable lurking about ...
-
@orkan One of the variables I'm trying to take into consideration is OAL trimming/deburring/chamfering. I presently have a manual L.E. Wilson trimmer and I think I've seen somewhere about deburring/chamfering bits, but I'm not sure if it's workable with the L.E. Wilson manual trimmer. I have no problem upgrading ..... do you think the IDOD Trimmer may address these additional issues in the future? Thanks ....
-
I haven't seen a provision for trimming on the IDOD yet. I know its been talked about.
There are quite a lot of variables that can affect the start point on the graph. Case length, chamfer, neck diameter, bullet ogive and bearing surface, etc. Hard to tell where they each stack up if you aren't measuring them independently anyway. Pre-sorting based on all of that could bring it into line probably, but that will just affect the start point. Its possible the actual force applied across time wouldn't be affected by many of them.

@orkan thanks for your reply. Appreciated

The OD would have to be done with a standard OD deburring tool.

Check it out! Case volume measuring capability with the AMP Press!

I was wondering about powder level and then said to myself ..... naaa. That's why I live on a bayou and I'm not a rocket scientist. I never imagined that the load cell would be so sensitive and that the software would be able to register the difference. It won't be long before this press will be able to make a template of your "perfect" load/seating for repeatable results/recordings. Next test might be measuring multiple neck rim thickness resistance.

I would love to see a comparison of several brass cleaning methods relative to seating depth pressure.
Something like:
Wet tumbling w/ SS pins - w/ neck lube and with out
vs
Ultra sonic - w/ neck lube and with out
vs
Vibratory w/ rice, corn cobb, walnutAlso, to show the seating depth variance for each method.
I think this would dispel some BS we all see in some of the other forums as to which method is best. Not that any of the fudds would take the proof as truth but for the guys that want to learn and better there brass prep and bullets seating I think it would be awesome to see.I am sure you got many other tests you are wanting to run but until I get my AMP press I gotta ask you!

I'll be playing with this thing a lot. I'll be sure to post anything noteworthy I do. :)

Looking forward to any and all reviews!
