The steadfast are blessed

James 5:11 says, “Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.”
Job is a great example of enduring temptation. We all know what it is like to face struggles and trials, but usually not nearly as many struggles as Job endured. Job is blessed because he endured. Job is blessed because he realized that faithfulness to God is what would get him through the struggles. We might face struggles in this life. They might even come because we do what is right. Yet if we remain faithful to God, He will bless us. He is a merciful and compassionate God.
