Oven-baked Country Ribs
Ingredients:
- 1-2lbs boneless country style ribs
- 1/2-1 cup broth (chicken or beef work best)
- Liquid smoke
- Favorite BBQ sauce
- Smoked salt (we use this one: https://www.amazon.com/Alderwood-Smoked-Salt-Coarse-Grain/dp/B00CQBLPJ6/ )
- BBQ seasoning (we use this one: https://www.alpinetouch.com/collections/alpine-touch-prairie-fire-rub )
- Pepper (Alpine Touch Pepper Blend is our favorite)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 300*F.
- In a casserole dish, lay out the ribs in a single layer. You might need a second dish depending on the size of the ribs. Season the ribs generously with smoked salt, a few drops of liquid smoke, bbq seasoning and pepper, making sure to get both sides of the ribs well. Be sure to have fat side of ribs facing up.
- Pour 1/2-1 cup broth around the ribs, ensuring there’s a decent liquid layer on the bottom on the pan.
- Top ribs with a generous layer of BBQ sauce
- Cover and bake for 2-2.5 hours (or until done)
- Using a meat thermometer, make sure the ribs have reached an internal temperature of at least 140*F before serving.
Plate and Enjoy.
** you could do these in a slow cooker too. You’d want to cook on low for 6-8 hours.
