Why do you wait?

While traveling on the road to Damascus, Paul saw a great light shine from heaven and Jesus spoke to Him. However, Jesus didn’t immediately forgive Paul, but rather told him to go into the city and it would be told to him what he must do. While in Damascus, a man named Ananias taught Paul the truth about Christ. After teaching about Christ Ananias told Paul (Acts 22:16), “And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.”

At that point, what was Paul waiting for? He knew that Jesus was the son of God. He knew that Jesus died for his sins. What was stopping Paul from being baptized for remission of sins.

If you believe that Jesus is the son of God. If you know that Jesus died for your sins, then why are you waiting? Why not be baptized and wash away your sins? We cannot go to heaven with unforgiven sin. Jesus died to make forgiveness possible. When we are Baptized, our sins are washed away by the power of His blood. What are you waiting for?
