Romans 1:16-17 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
It is the Gospel that contains the power of God to salvation. It is the Gospel that reveals to us the righteousness of God. The Gospel is a very important part of Christianity which leads us to understand and know God and His salvation. Yet unless we are willing to live by faith the Gospel is useless to us. It only has the power to save us when we believe the commands contained therein. We must be willing to live our lives faithfully trusting every word and every command that God has given in His Gospel. The Gospel is of great importance to Christians, and God has supplied that. Trusting His Gospel enough to live it is our part and is also necessary.
