Though He slay me...
-
In Job 13:15, Job says, “Though he slay me, I will hope in him!”
We all know the story of Job. We know how he suffered and was tempted by Satan over and over again. He lost everything he owned. He lost his family. He lost his health. Yet he stills trusted in God knowing that God was his hope.
Jobs friends, over and over wrongly told Job that his suffering was because he was living wrong. They told him that if he would just repent and come back to God that all of the suffering would end. Job however knows that he has not done wrong. Job knows that his friends are wrong and Job makes the above statement in response to his friends. Even if God slay me, yet will I trust in Him.
Our world is difficult and uncertain at times. We don’t know for sure that we will even be living a month from now. However, if we are faithful to God, we do know that even in death God will work things for the best.
Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.
