How good are you?
How well do you shoot? Do you shoot better than most people? Do you shoot better than your shooting buddies? Do you shoot better than the average guy at the range? Do you win competitions? How well do you shoot?
Are you happy with your shooting because you achieved a certain group size or a hit at a certain distance? Or are you continually striving to learn and grow in regards to shooting?
Here is the thing, we can get to a point with shooting that we are better than many. Maybe we are even better than most. This is a dangerous place to be with anything because it can lead us to become satisfied with our skill set and therefore no longer strive to become better. When we no longer strive to become better we fail to do our best and fail to continue becoming better. We can shoot one hole groups. We can get first round hits at insanely long distances. We can shoot and know that we are not the weak link. But not if we are satisfied with where we are, and not if we are satisfied with just being better than most.
How good of a Christian are you? Are you as good as most? Are you better than most? Do you study your Bible more, pray more, and do more good than most? Are you satisfied with where you are spiritually? The thing is, if we only compare ourselves to those around us and become satisfied with who we are we will no longer strive to continually grow spiritually. Our spiritual life and growth can not be dependent upon what those around us are doing, because the majority of the world is not right to start with. We must not commend ourselves or be satisfied with where we are. We must continually strive to grow regardless of what those around us are doing. We can do better. We can help more people. We can lead more people to the truth. We can know more about God. We can serve others like Christ. We can understand faith, love, hope, and joy on a deeper level. But we never will if we are satisfied with where we are. We never will if we only compare ourselves with others.
2 Corinthians 10:17-18 says, “But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.”
Strive every day to grow spiritually. The Lord is only satisfied with our best. Would the Lord approve of your faith and spiritual growth?

Being a better christian and a better marksman are both challenging and rewarding. "Boresight the teachings of Christ and you shall not miss your mark."
