Do You Love Money?

Do You Love Money?
There are so many things that we need in this life that money buys. We need food, clothing, a house, a car (or usually cars). We need guns (obviously). We need to furnish our homes. We need phones and internet. We need insurance to protect the things we have already purchased. We need financing to purchase the things we can't afford yet. Money plays a big part in our lives.
When we consider the list of all of the things we "need" it seems like it never ends. It seems like as soon as we have one thing, we find another thing that we need to buy and the cycle never ends. We need the three bedroom home to hold all of our stuff, but when we finally get that home it fills up quickly and we find ourselves needing more and more room. Most people have a garage, but it is so full of stuff that we cannot even get a car into it.
At what point are we going to be content with what we have and no longer "need" more things? We must strive for this contentment. We must strive to be satisfied with our material things in life and seek to grow spiritually.
Hebrews 13:5 says, "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear;what can man do to me?”
Trust God...not money. Love God...not money.
