Adoption as Sons

Galatians 4:4-7 says, “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, [5] to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. [6] And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” [7] Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

God waited until the timing was perfect and then He sent Christ to earth. He was born of a woman and came to redeem man. Christ coming to earth allows us to be adopted as sons of God. As sons, we are heirs of the promises all possible because Christ came to earth.

Christmas Day is most likely not the actual day that Christ was born. It also is not a holiday that was observed in the Bible. However most people have their minds on Christ and His coming to earth this time of year. It is good to remember and reflect upon what His coming to earth actually means to us. He brought peace, Hope, forgiveness, adoption, and love to a world that was hopelessly lost without Him.
