Promises
-
Hebrews 11:17-19 says, “By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
[18] Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
[19] Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.”God had promised Abraham that through his son Isaac he would become a great nation. When God commanded Abraham to offer Isaac as a sacrifice, he quickly submitted to the will of God. He was willing to sacrifice his son because he knew the promises that God had made and knew that they would come true. If God’s promises were true, then Isaac must be alive, so Abraham trusted that God would raise him from the dead.
When God makes promises to us, we can trust that nothing will stop those promises. We might lose the promises because we have turned away in a lack of faith, but if we trust God He will fulfill His promises.
Don’t let your own lack of faith get in the way of the great and precious promises God has made.
