Are you a slave?

Romans 6:20-23 says, “For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Sometimes people have the idea that they don’t want to be tied down by religion. They want to be free to live and do whatever they want whenever they want. This lack of discipline and self control does not lead to good things either in this life or in eternity. Living like the world leads to death both spiritually and physically.
Christians are free from sin. Free from the struggles and pain that sin brings. Free from the ultimate death that sin inevitably brings. A result of being free from sin Means that we become slaves to God, yet the ultimate consequence of being a slave to God is eternal life. Therefore we have a choice. Submit to God and receive life or submit to Satan and receive death.
