Continuing In Sin
-
The writer of Hebrews is writing to Christians and warning them of the dangers of continuing in sin. There is a difference between making a mistake unknowingly and knowingly continuing in sin. When we choose to continue in sin after knowing the truth and that it is wrong, then there is no more sacrifice for our sin. The blood of Christ does not cleanse our sins when we knowingly and continually live in those sins. When we willingly continue in sin, we have a fearful judgement and firey indignation waiting for us. God will judge and punish us if we continually live in sin and refuse to leave it.
Hebrews 10:26-27 says, "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries."
