The Mind of a Child

Matthew 18:1-4 says, "At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Jesus' disciples came to Him obviously arguing over who would be the greatest in His kingdom. Jesus used a small child to illustrate a great lesson for us. One must become as a small child in order to enter the Kingdom. Jesus here was specifically talking about the aspect of humility as seen in the last verse, but this also applies to many other concepts as well. Children are humble. Children are forgiving. Children are trusting. Children are open minded and ready to learn. Children are spiritually far superior in many ways to most adults. If we are going to be a part of the kingdom, then spiritually we must convert or change our mind back to that of a child.
