Upside Down

Gradually, through years of mind control at nearly all educational levels, our society has developed into a society that denies the existence of right. Society has finally accepted the denominational idea that everyone is right regardless of what they believe, practice, or the actions they do. This acceptance, however, has gone beyond those who practice “Christianity” to include all religious beliefs, all social practices, and all political ideas. This digression from the standard of right has gone so far that those who proclaim there is right are now perceived as being the most evil and wrong people of all society!
Sadly, when right is removed from a society, the standard of right is also removed with it. This means that God can no longer be accepted by a society that does not accept that right and wrong exist. God, through Isaiah the prophet, warned, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20). Isaiah properly pronounces God’s judgment upon those who turn moral standards upside down! He states that “woe” or sorrows will be upon such a people.
People who have their moral standards upside down call evil good and good evil. Society now proudly proclaims that evil has become good and those who stand against it are evil. Homosexuality, which is plainly condemned in the Bible (Romans 1:26, 27), is now supported by society. Those who oppose such evil are called narrow-minded extremists, racists, or worse. The Bible plainly states that a baby is formed as an individual in the mother’s womb. Ecclesiastes 11:5 says, “As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.” Man does not understand the way of God who forms the “child” within the womb! The Bible frequently talks about conception. When Bathsheba conceived, she sent a message to David and said, “I am with child” (2 Samuel 11:5). God told Jeremiah, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee: and before thou camest out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” The spirit of man begins even before conception, and conception is the physical formation of the body where God places the spirit of man (James 2:26). The world has this matter morally upside down also. The world has determined that the unborn child is no individual and has no individual rights. Therefore, millions of murders have been committed while society pacifies itself with the false concept that nothing occurred but a fetus being aborted! Those who oppose abortion (the murder of babies) are called right-winged zealots, terrorists, or worse. The sexual relationship, which God reserves for marriage between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24, and 1 Corinthians 7:2), has been totally destroyed by society. Sex is seen as an individual right and people move from one sexual partner to another without any consideration for the will of God, the emotional distress, the physical dangers, or the lack of personal respect that is involved in such actions. Instead of being told to abstain from sex, young people are told that it is their right and that they should enjoy such activity. Peer pressure makes virginity unacceptable! Those who stand for abstinence until marriage are said to be products of the past, old prudes, or those who do not really know about living.
Does society really think that such evil actions will occur without there being a price to pay? Disregard for God’s will, human life, proper sexuality, and the heterosexuality of man; will produce many sorrowful consequences for society. It will produce anguish in mothers and fathers who will have to live with the fact that while they have some children they murdered their other children. It will produce a society that thinks so little of human life that it will allow the destruction of the infirm, the aged, the mentally incompetent, and all those whom society deems as unfit. It will produce a society that sexually will act with behavior that is beneath animal behavior. Children will be produced without homes, not knowing their parents, and without understanding of their own sexuality. Husbands and wives will not know the assurance that comes from chastity, but will always have the lingering and haunting questions about their mate’s previous sexual activity. The darkness of society will become as Sodom and Gomorrah where the evil sexual desires of the multitudes will be forced upon those who choose righteousness! It will produce a society in which children will not be safe from those who seek to exploit them for their own sexual fulfillment.
Does society really want to know what the world looks like once God is removed as the standard of righteousness? Paul, the apostle, described such a society in Ephesus. He told them that they had no promise and were without hope (Ephesians 2:12). God has given His righteous standard. Man can choose to follow or not to follow Him. He will choose how to punish those who do not follow (John 12:48).
