Disguised as an Angel

2 Corinthians 11:12-15 says, "And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds."
Paul here warns the Christians of people who present themselves as righteous people, however are actually "false apostles" and "deceitful workmen". Paul tells them that he will continue to undermine their claim so that others are not deceived. Yet we shouldn't be surprised that false teachers and wicked people will put themselves forth as great spiritual leaders. Even Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light. Regardless, their end will be fitting for their deeds.
Next time you see someone who you believe to be an "angel of light", ask yourself, "could this be the devil?"
