Full Assurance
-
Hebrews 6:9-12 says, “But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner. For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
We can be confident in our salvation. Yet that confidence only comes when we work for God, minister to people, and diligently seek Him. If we become sluggish or lazy in our spiritual lives we lose the assurance we once had. If we fail to continue working for God and in His kingdom, we lose the assurance we once had. However, when we continue doing what is right, obeying God, and working for Him we can have full assurance that we have the promises waiting for us in eternity.
