"Hopefully We Won't Be Found Naked"
-
2 Corinthians 5:1-4 says, "For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.[2] For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:[3] If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.[4] For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
If we should happen to lose our lives, we have a soul that will live eternally. We should look forward to and desire to shed this physical body and to be clothed with our spiritual, eternal body. Hopefully we won't be found naked. When we live ungodly lives in the here and now, we will be caught with nothing to look forward to in eternity. Yet the faithful look for, desire, and want this mortal live to be swallowed up in eternal life.
I don't desire to die, but I desire to leave this earth and be in heaven with God. It is not a morbid thing, but rather a spiritual thing. When we realize the things that are truly important, then we will quickly realize that this life is just a temporary stop on our journey to eternity. We must remember the temporary nature of this life and the eternity that is at stake.
