Call your Senators to oppose AG William Barr

  • Trump nominee William Barr is anti-gun and anti-due process.

He supports red-flag laws and “reasonable” gun control.

He also defended everyone involved in the Ruby Ridge incident.

William Barr is no friend of gun owners or freedom.

I urged you all to contact your Senators and tell them to not confirm William Barr to Attorney General, the highest law enforcement official should not be undermining due process.

You may phone the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121. A switchboard operator will connect you directly with the Senate office you request.

  • Barr is the same smell as Janet (Burnumalive)Reno and part of the Bush/Clinton cartel.
GOA has a letter ready for you to click to your legislators....
    https://gunowners.org/

  • Yet another piece of evidence that Trump cares absolutely nothing about gun owners. He is a con man that told 2A supporters what they wanted to hear to get their vote.

FWIW, I think calling them is a better option, but if I had to email them I wouldn’y use a mass form.

One of the things we were told about the bumpstock ban was that a lot of the pro-gun letters to the ATF were just mass forms. I’m betting they threw most of them out. At least that’s what I think I read.

I agree that calling is the best option, if you can get through.
Unfortunately, it has been my experience that most people won't take the time to call or become frustrated by the run around you inevitably get if you are in opposition to the elected officials stance on an issue.
Most of the mass forms can be edited and personalized and they do get delivered.
My personal experience with calling our legislators has not been a positive experience. It is rare that I have been able to actually talk to a person and when I have it has never been my elected rep. I always wondered if they got the message or not.
As to the mass form letters, I have received many written personal replies over the years to the mass forms signed by the reps both through email and snail mail, so I know they were noticed. Whether they actually wrote the replies or not I don't know.

It doesn't take much to send them out and may help the cause.
Best case is to do both.

I'm glad Trump was elected and not Hillary.
We have 2 new SCOTUS members that are, at the least Constitutionally friendly and may even live up to their hype of being originalists.
I don't want Barr or anyone like him either and I sure as heck don't want any bans or red flag laws. Some of this will end up being decided in the supreme court and if Hillary had been nominated the 2 newest members it would surely go against the 2A and we would have another POS like Holder or Reno for AG.
You can write to Trump via
    https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/
And let him know your opinion on Barr and any other issue.
I wrote a very unfavorable letter concerning his nomination of Barr and a few more may help get him un nominated.

There were more than 2 people on the ballot.

  • @flyinphill

There were more than 2 people on the ballot.

    I am aware of that.
Perot got Clinton elected by splitting those that apposed Clinton.
Clinton won with 43% of the vote.
Unfortunately voting for a party/candidate other than Republican is a vote for the Democrat.

I do not believe this at all. And I think this mentality is harmful.

Right now people keep voting for one of two parties despite both of them being relatively similar. And both being anti-gun.

If you can convince 51% of the country, we'll have a chance to fix things.

    Good luck. :)

With the electoral college a majority of votes isn't needed, thank God.
What is necessary is what Trump accomplished, 304 to 277 electoral; and by county, ratio was 2,626 to 487. If popular vote is used to elect a president, then we are screwed as LA and NY will decide all elections.
Unfortunately, most people that run for political office are there to serve themselves first and foremost. I do not believe this of Trump. I believe he is sincere in his desire to get this country back on track. Is he perfect? Do I agree with all he has done? NO. Why is he hated by the political and media class, both R and D? He isn't one of them and he is popping their control bubble and revealing the media for the BS birdcage liner they are.

Judges have the greatest impact upon sustaining our Constitutional rights. Politicians try to put in place those judges most likely to adhere to their political agenda.
Trump's judicial appointments have been pretty good so far concerning the 2A.

It would be nice to have all the unconstitutional laws (in other words all laws) restricting firearm ownership and usage thrown out. That reality will never happen without a magic wand, a major catastrophic event or another 1775.

  • Guess I'll see myself out of this conversation.

People are stupid and do not live their lives right... That's the problem.

Nothing else matters if that doesn't get fixed.

It is quite the challenge, but what’s happening right now isn’t working.

The only side that’s winning the gun rights battle is the side that doesn’t believe in them. The Republicans don’t do crap, they always have an excuse on why it can’t be done, and are looking for any excuse to support laws that restrict.

They’re all cowards and cons, and no one does anything about it because the other side is worse. In the end we end up in the same place.

  • I am not familiar with participant numbers in any area other than where I live.
Here we have a population of gun owners of which the vast majority do not engage the local politicians. They sit around and complain when the laws are passed but contributed nothing to try and stem them off.
Needless to say our gun laws are very restrictive and our legislators seem to be in competition with Kali or Portland to pass the country's most restrictive gun laws.

Like it or not the politicians have the upper hand.

Participation by everyone in the 2A community is needed.

  • Interestingly enough, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez showed how we can get more pro gun people in and start swinging the Republicans towards constitutionalists.
