Attitude of Giving
-
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 says, “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:”
Giving is something that God has commanded, however it does not come without blessings. Notice some of the promises in the above passage. If we sow bountifully, we will reap bountifully. Also, God promises that we will have all sufficiency in all things so that we can abound to every good work. God will provide for us so that we will be able to give to help others. Yet this giving is.not to be something done because one fees compelled to give or that he has to give, but it is to be a cheerful gift given to one who needs that gift. When we use our goods to cheerfully give to those who truly need it, God will sufficiently provide for us.
