God or Money

Luke 16:13-15 says, “No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
[14] The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him. [15] And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.”

The Pharisees were people who appeared to be religious, but their hearts were not right. Jesus told them that no man can serve God and money and the Pharisees ridiculed Him. Then Christ called the Pharisees out. They were people who were justified before men, but were not right with God. If we seek to be exalted before men, then we have missed the point of life. God is not interested in what man views as important, but rather God is interested in what He holds as important.
