1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says, “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
True love is something that the vast majority of people in this world will never understand or comprehend. This is the type of love that we should look for from others, but also the type of love that we should work at expressing.
A 17 year old kid whispers “I love you” to his girl friend. Yet neither one even begins to fully comprehend what true love is. It is something we work towards. It is something we learn as life progresses. It is something that we really only fully understand as we look to Christ and His love for us. Yet that same type of love is the love that we are to show to our spouse, our children, other Christians, and even our enemies.
