ATF loses court case.

  • Oh and it also should show people how shady the ATF is.

    It’s really surprising that the dude won not only against unconstitutional government beauracracy but with a court appointed lawyer to boot. (Though that probably has to be one of the worst jobs someone could do.)

  • It's good he got off and didn't have to pay any $$. But did he get all his guns and gear back? Did he have to spend > zero nano-seconds in Jail ?

    And perhaps regardless he is guilty of domestic violence misdemeanor which makes him a prohibited person anyway ?

    ==
    And don't forget, whether the ATF wins or looses, we pay (all their salaries and court costs etc. )

  • Make no mistake, the entire judicial system, from the newest city cop, to the oldest judge... is almost entirely funded and driven by pursuit of frivolous cases against good people. The percentage of good people getting wrapped up due to false witness testimony or technicalities is extremely high, compared to actual intentional crime prosecution.

    In the cops and prosecutors eyes, everyone is guilty of something... and it's their job to find a way to get you.

    While the case was preposterous, I have to take issue with the statement that every cop is out to get you. In reality many cops consider it their job to protect your constitutional rights. There are assholes in every profession, and when these people gain power they can really mess things up for everyone.

    In my mind the big problem is that the government has all the power to ruin anyone’s life at the drop of a hat, and for any reason at all.

  • @hoarfrost You know... I had a huge post typed explaining my position. I deleted it.

    Fact is, once you've seen for yourself what corrupt cops and prosecutors are capable of... you won't ever look at a cop the same way again. Innocence and guilt doesn't have one single thing to do with whether or not you can go to jail.

    Once you realize that, your life changes. How you view cops and prosecutors changes... forever. No amount of fairy tail "a few bad apples" talk will change it back. Reality is clear for anyone that's been in that position.

    If you've never been in that position, you just won't get it. ... and I pray that everyone here can just go happily through life being blissfully ignorant of that fact. However, if you find yourself in a situation where you realize being innocent means nothing in the eyes of the law... reach out to me. I'll give you some advice that just might save your family.

    Cops are people... and when you consider people, there are a massive amount of them that can justify hurting you or your family. It's not just "a few bad apples." Its lots of people. Good cops, good people, doing what is right every day... they have my full support. Though experience has taught me just how rare those people are.
