Come on hornady... really?

  • So I opened a new comparator body I just got from brownells... and went to put the bushing in, only to discover the holes were not threaded.

Ugh. Just annoying. Thankfully I have plenty of others, but this lack of attention to detail is annoying.

  • Someone was sleeping at the QC desk that day.

  • Sinclair.....

I wanted to ask the other day when you were showing the pictures of the trays you printed for the reloading bench you built but didn't want to derail the thread. Whats the point of having multiple comparators?

I can understand two, so you could sort by bearing surface, but the utility of more than that is lost on me.

    Sinclair?

This way I can just grab the caliber I want, and clamp it on the caliper. The bushings are made from soft aluminum, and the screw that holds them in is tiny, so swapping them in and out frequently chews them up and just isn't fun. I shoot a lot, and shoot a lot of different cartridges. Much of what I do at the bench is designed to keep my work flow stress free and moving along without much wasted time.

  • @orkan

    Ah spares.
I should have figured it was something to that end.

By Sinclair I mean that they have (what I believe to be) better QC. Never had an issue with them, but its not like I have much of their stuff either.

My LNL comparator from hornady was missing the screws actually, which sucked, but not as much as it would be if it were missing the threads.....

    Sinclair = Police Store = Brownells. ;)

... and I don't lay the blame at brownells feet. This is a hornady problem. Sending incomplete parts out to anodize? lol

  • @orkan

    Right right.
I meant the Sinclair made stuff is better than Hornady. Or at least in my opinion.

I understand Brownells just ships the stuff.

Aaaaah. I see. Tracking now. :) Yeah, sinclair brand stuff is usually pretty good. I agree, better than hornady on most items.
