Bullet puller?
-
Can anyone make a recommendation on a good bullet puller? I have a Lyman impact puller but looking for something different to try? Any recommendations?

I run an RCBS collet puller when the need arises. I have an impact too.

@alfmoonspace
I have the Forester and I hate it, it makes pretty bad scars and usually have to take it apart to free the projectile.
Mostly use my RCBS impact.

I have an impact and a pliers type. Neither is good for crimped bullets; however, for uncrimped I really like the pliers type.

I had to get the Lyman Magnum puller to get a 300gr 338 bullet out. I had some minor marks from pulling un-crimped bullets, but nothing too deep.

Thanks guys, ordered the RCBS collet style per @orkan recommendation.
Have about 15 rounds of hot 6.5x47 that I want to try it on.

Late to the party...but I use the hornady collet puller. It is much better than an inertia puller if you have more than 2-3 to pull. It will put slight marks on the bullets though and requires a different collet for each size bullet. I have not tried other collet pullers to compare it to though either.

@painless I also have a Forester and I use a empty case and run it back up to make the collet release on 223 I use a 308 case and the bullet will fall right in it.

I’ll give it try. Thanks for the tip.

RCBS collet worked great!
