Thank You Advanced Rifle Concepts Students!

  • It was a great weekend of training with a great group of people. I saw significant improvement of shooters mindset and ability both days. The confidence level upon the conclusion of the class was quite high in relation to the state some of you arrived in!

Thanks again to everyone in attendance and I hope to work with all of you in the future!

  • Thank you all for allowing us the opportunity to train with you this weekend. It's truly a pleasure to spend the weekend getting to know you better and help improve your shooting skills. I look forward to hearing back as you each continually improve! Thanks again!

  • And thanks ARC instructors!!! It would not have been the same without you !!! ;)

  • A big thanks to the entire crew at Primal Rights. This training was exactly what I was needing/ looking for. I am excited to get out to the range and use the skills and tools taught to help me improve my performance and better trouble shoot my issues. First I need to make a couple changes to my equipment. First up is increasing the LOP. I am guessing I need to add 1”, maybe even 1-1/2” to the LOP to get my position correct and also improve scope relief. Once that is right I may also need to look into moving my cheek piece away from my face laterally. Of course a better optic and a suppressor are also on the list of desirable improvements but not really a need like the others and not going to happen just yet. I’m in the process of organizing all my thoughts on the class yet. When I have it deciphered I plan to post a bit more of a review on the entire experience.

I had an idea I would need to do something similar last year before the class. After the class I knew I had to do this. It has helped me be more natural behind the rifle, it didn’t really make me shoot better, necessarily, but I could shoot longer.

But, if you read all the “experts” online and they’ll put an adjustable stock way down on priority, and most wont even mention side to side adjustment.

It was only a small thing I learned in that class however.

  • After the class, I wouldn’t want to do without an adjustable stock. One just can’t get in proper position without a properly fitting stock and that is only acheived with an adjustable stock.

  • A bit more of a formal review. Again thanks to everybody at Primal Rights.

Primal Right’s Advanced Rifle Concepts class is an excellent course for anybody who wants to learn or improve upon their firing position. Through Greg’s teaching you will not only learn how to build a firing position but also why that position is important.
9+ hours are spent in a classroom setting on the first day. 9 hours sitting in a classroom is a long time, but Greg runs the class in such a way that it does not seem long at all. A large percentage of this class time is actually spent behind your rifle learning the techniques and tools being taught. A small portion of the technique would be taught and the reasoning behind it explained. The class would then be directed to practice the technique learned. Each portion of the technique was delivered in this method, breaking it down piece by piece, so that it was easily understood and learned and then put into practice. Each new piece built off the summation of the previously taught techniques. The tone of the class was easy going and there was always ample time to ask and clear up any questions one might have.
In the process of learning the technique you will also be learning what is right and what is wrong about your personal equipment and setup. The need for the proper equipment and the right setup to properly build the best firing position becomes apparent. If adjustments can be made to your equipment, the instructors will take the time to help you get your setup adjusted for you.
The second day starts in the classroom reviewing the technique taught the previous day. After going over the range safety rules we moved to the range. Greg controls the range and gives direction in a manner that promotes putting into practice the techniques taught. The live fire session starts with taking one shot at a time. Each shot is reviewed using the tools taught in the classroom.
Throughout the weekend we probably practiced “firing” our rifle hundreds of times. The vast majority of this was dry fire practice, both in the classroom and on the range. Only a very small portion of these firings were with live rounds. Though there was a limited number of live rounds fired, I can honestly say I learned more during each one of those rounds then I had in every round I had fired prior to the training.
Thank you to all the Primal Rights staff for putting on an excellent training event. I am currently in the process of improving my equipment in the areas I found it was lacking during the training. I look forward to implementing the techniques and tools I learned during the training and improving my shooting skills.

Well stated! I feel the same way. Also, regardless of prior experience. If you go to learn, you will.

Thanks to all the staff for an atmosphere so focused on the teaching / learning of this discipline.

It was a pleasure to work with you all!

  • @orkan Finally made it home safe and sound to Oregon's South Coast. Really enjoyed talking the class and looking forward to improving my shooting skills by the knowledge gained in the class. I wish I could have taken this class 40 years ago!
