Badlands sniper challenge

Long day. Just pulled up in front of the house. I mentioned I joined this forum because I was interested in competition. I’ll post more later but I thought I would share this. Thanks for all the help.
Just to add. That’s the first place trophy if you can’t tell from the picture.

Congrats!

Ok I’m sitting in the waiting room of my doctor and I wanted to share what I learned. I’m sure this isn’t anything mind blowing but it helps me to write it down and hear others thoughts.
Check screws on everything and bring extra. Loctite them if you can. Somehow I lost a screw from my bipod and one from the turret of my scope. Both still functioned, but I had doubts throughout the match. Also props to NF and B&T, I emailed both of them last night and they already have new screws on the way to me.
Don’t shoot a braked .308 in a culvert. Double ear pro or not. That mistake corrected itself in one shot. My ears are still ringing.
I need a better rangefinder. During the event the spotter would follow behind me with the LRF and drop sheet. The idea was he range targets and call drop as I get in position, then I just dial and shoot. Half way through my rangefinder shit the bed so we were forced to estimate ranges in addition to guessing wind. It didn’t work out well. I’m gonna grab a terrapin or sig kilo or something soon.
Bring a cleaning kit. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the bend Oregon area, it’s a dust bowl. Mix that with sustained winds of 12miles and gusts up to 25...It’s going to take a week to get all my stuff clean. I’m still coughing up gritty phlegm. I had to go buy grease in town for my lugs so I could get them between each of the stages.
In this type of match a spotting scope with a mil reticle would be helpful to have on the team. I don’t know of anyone who makes them other than leupold though so I’ll probably hold my nose and go that way.
I’m sure I’ll think of more things but that’s what I have for now. All in all I had a great time and I’ll definitely be doing more of this in the future. I intend to upgrade my rifle to one better suited to competition too. In the end we took first by four tenths of a point, meaning a miss anywhere by us or an extra hit by the second team means our positions are reversed.
Again thanks for the input on everything so far.

Vortex offers them too:

And I'd guess there are others.
However, I'm sure portability is high on your list too for competitions with that much physical endurance involved.

I’ve looked for that one before, but I’ve never found it. Some say it’s discontinued others say it hasn’t entered production. Even that link from the manufacturer lists it as inactive.
I’d happily go with a vortex and have the ability to use it hunting as well jus by changing the eyepiece.

I've read they were bringing it back to their product lineup for 2018. I'm sure they could give you better detail if you gave them a call.
I'm not even certain if i will be compatible with all generations of the Razors and which sizes, etc.
