K31, any advice?

    I have been wanting one of these for a while know but really don’t know where to start.

    Any advice on where to pick one up and then what to look for?

  • Don't let it rust.
    Prices have been steadily inching upwards.

    I have a no import marked 1896/11 and a 1935 K31 with serial matching bayonet.

    The craftsmanship is amazing when you consider the technology that was available at the time they were manufactured.

    Going to have to go through mine Sunday night and give them a wipe down with Balistol and Linseed oil.

    Air Conditioning has been out for two weeks and no humidity controls.... Cool enough that we don't need it.
    New unit installation is scheduled for next week.
    Have to go over everything and double check.
    Pull through the bores too.

    I will keep that in mind.

    Simpson LTD. has been a name that has been tossed around. Also, GP11 can't be found anywhere for a reasonable cost so that might extend search a little.

    Your favorite 308 bullet.
    Slower powder to keep pressure reasonable.
    Hodgden lists H4831 with 51 as max load.
    2659 fps

    Swiss Rifle forums are big on Reloader 17 as being nearly the same as GP11
