Does optimum length of pull vary with position?

When shooting a rem 700/clone I have let the ability to cycle the bolt influence my length of pull adjustment. As in, it is difficult to reach the bolt under some circumstances.
After reviewing orkans detailed article on proper form, I doubt this is the ideal way to determine L.O.P.
Additionally what effect do the different positions have on length off pull. Any idea how much it would vary, if any? Say prone, kneeling, offhand...

Body position very much has to do with length of pull.
During each class we have a great many students that end up with a much shorter length of pull due to getting their bodies more straight on with the rifle as opposed to out to the side like a little green army man.
