Are You Worried Yet?
-
Matthew 6:34 says, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
Jesus has just told the people to trust God and to put His kingdom first and now He tells them that if they do, they have no reason to worry about tomorrow. When we stay faithful to God, He will take care of us. That doesn't mean that we don't have to work, find food, clothing, or shelter, but that means that we will be able to find these things.
What good does it do to worry? What does worry accomplish? When God has promised to provide when we follow Him, then worry is a lack of trust in Him. Many times we spend so much time in thought and planning for tomorrow that we ignore the important things of today. If we simply take care of today by trusting God and putting Him first, then tomorrow will take care of itself.

The command that is in the Bible more than any other command is, "do not fear". When we are following God and doing what is right we have no reason to fear!
