Bound For The Ditch

The Pharisees had just heard a teaching of Jesus and were offended by it. When the disciples told Jesus that they were offended, this was His response.
Matthew 15:14 says, “Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
There are times when people are so caught up in their own self-righteousness that they will not hear the truth. Often times those who are blind to the truth will gather together and “lead” each other. They will confirm one another’s beliefs and practices and hold on to their convictions until they all fall into the ditch. At times there is nothing to do but to leave them alone and move on to people who want to know truth.

Profound on so many levels of society today. Not just religious and the teachings of Jesus Christ, but also politically and in general. People choose to follow others on blind faith all to often with out ever looking into the fact themselves.

Such is the peril of speaking in any public venue.
Speak truth, those that seek it will silently absorb it and you won't even know or see most of them. Yet those that disagree will violently defend their ignorance.
