1 John 1:8-10 says, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

Everyone has made mistakes. One major difference between a Christian and people of the world is how sin is handled. When one has made a mistake and sinned, if they refuse to recognize the fact that they have sinned they they are simply deceived and living outside the truth. On the other hand, if a Christian is willing to admit their sins and turn from them, He will forgive and cleanse that sin. If one claims that they have not sinned when they have, they make Christ out to be a liar and are not living in truth.

We have a choice. We can ignore sin or we can admit to it, change, and be forgiven. We can make excuses for our sin, call it good, act like we didn't have any other option, or we can admit when we are wrong, come back to walking in the light, and be forgiven. One major difference between Christians and the world is to be how sin is handled. A Christian must admit when they are wrong and change whereas the world will do everything they can to hide their sin, excuse their sin, or project their sin onto others.
