Bullets From The Bible 2-17-18

Titus 2:4-5 says, “that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.”
These two verse are describing the principles that older women were to teach young women. These verses give a picture of the home that is rarely seen in our society and is almost never encouraged or glorified. Yet this is the way God intended for the home to work.
Women are to love their husbands. There are many different words for love in the Greek language. This particular word is telling the wives to “lust after” their husbands.
Women are to love their children. This is a different word for love which means that they are to be fond of their children and maternal to them. They are to be “motherly” in their love of their children.
Women are to be discrete. This means that they carefully watch their words and what they say.
Women are to be chaste. The word literally means pure. They are to be Godly in their actions.
Women are to be homemakers. They are to be the ones who keep the home and ensure that it operates and runs as it should.
Women are to be obedient to their husbands. The husband is the head of the wife and family and is to lead the family. The wife is to follow the lead of her husband. This is not a tyrannical rule, but rather the wife willingly submits herself to the husbands leadership.
These are Biblical principles that are not very popular in our world. Women who follow this Biblical pattern are considered often considered to be oppressed by their husbands...yet it is quite the opposite. Godly women desire this role as the submissive homemaker. Godly women desire to spend time at home with their children raising them in the Lord. What better purpose could there be in life than to raise ones children to be Godly children. I can’t help but to wonder how our world would be different if these roles were glorified instead of taught against.
Wives...desire to fulfill this role that God has given you. Husbands...desire that your wife fulfill this role that God has given her. Make the sacrifices necessary in your life to make this happen. Whether it be cheaper cars, smaller house, less things, or whatever it might be...it is worth it.
