Bullets From The Bible 1-30-18

Exodus 22:2 says, “If the thief is found breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt for his bloodshed.”
Exodus contains part of the old law and we are no longer under the old law. However the old law gives us insights into certain situations. This principle of self defense under the old law is interesting. If a thief is killed while breaking in, there was no guilt for his bloodshed. While there are times when a Christian is to “turn the other cheek” (Matthew 5:38-42), there are also times when it is righteous for a Christian to defend himself and his family.

Makes me recoil in disgust to reflect on my own recent happenings, where the CRIMINAL is the one going to the police, and because the cops truly don't give a shit about the truth, take the criminal's side.
I only learned afterward just how commonplace that really is.

orkan, you right on . . .police really don't give a shit about the truth. They are trained that way as to not be a judge or jury and that it's not their job to determine the truth since that's what juries are for. I just wish police were trained better to use better common sense and be more sensitive to the public they serve.
I've seen some police departments that are great and really serve the people well and there there as those departments are simply shittty. A lot of that simply has to do with very poor management along with certain philosophical and political agendas.
