Matthew 21:28-31 says, “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’ “He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went. “Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go. “Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you.

Two sons. Two different answers. The first son refused to go...but later changed and went. The second son had the right answer at first, but then refused to go. Jesus told the scribes and Pharisees that the tax collectors and harlots would enter the kingdom before they would. The Pharisees were religious in name, but far lacking in their actions. However when the wicked, unfair tax collectors and harlots change they are in the kingdom because they are doing God’s will.

One might not start out life as a Christian. One might live disobedient to God...yet when they are willing to change there is forgiveness. Heaven is for those who are willing to admit when they are wrong and repent...not for those who are religious in name only yet refuse to obey God.
