Bullets From The Bible 1-19-18

Israel had once again rebelled against God. God compared Israel’s disobedience to the life of a harlot who had been saved from harlotry by a husband and then returned to harlotry in spite of all her husband had done for her. Hosea then told Israel that the only way to be right with God was to change. They had to return to the Lord and when they changed how they were living and returned to the Lord only then would God heal them, raise them up, and bless them.

Hosea 6:1-3 says, “Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight. Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.”

As Christians we are saved from the wicked world by God. He pulls us out of the filth, forgives us, makes us His children, and blesses us. Yet it is easy to return to living like the world. When we fail to remain obedient to God it is like a harlot returning to her customers after being rescued from the lifestyle. The only way to be right with God is to truly change who we are. We must leave the sin of the world and follow Him. Only then will He forgive us, raise us up, and bless us. There is no salvation unless we are willing to follow God.
