Matthew 7:22-23 says, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”
Getting to heaven takes more than just being religious. Getting to heaven takes more than just professing the name of the Lord. Getting to heaven takes more than just doing good things. Sadly in the day of judgement there will be many people who will be disappointed. There will be many who feel like they should go to heaven, but will not for the simple fact that they didn’t obey God’s commands. The one who will enter in is the one who “does the will of my father which is in heaven”.
