Hebrews 4:13 says, “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”

It can be a scary thought to realize that God sees everything. He knows our motives and intentions. He knows when we intentionally sin. He knows when we slip up and inadvertently make a mistake. He knows when our heart is not right. He knows when we struggle with temptations. He knows everything...and one day we will give an account to Him. We will stand before Him to answer for ourselves, our lives, our actions, our heart. He knows all the things we have done...and haven’t done.

Yet have you ever considered that there is also comfort in the fact that God knows all. There is comfort in the fact that God is our judge and He knows all. He doesn’t rely on unreliable witnesses, word of mouth, the testimony of others. He doesn’t rely on what others think or say about us. He doesn’t even rely on our own perception of ourselves. God knows without a doubt all things about our lives. We can’t be falsely accused, because He knows all. We can’t falsely inflate our righteousness because He knows all. We will receive the exact and righteous judgement from God. No more punishment and no less reward than is right and while that can be scary...it is also comforting.
