ATF moves to classify bump stocks as machine guns
-
As we reported earlier today, our friends at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives and Really Big Fires is considering what kind of mental and logical contortions would be necessary to reverse their earlier decision regarding bump fire stocks. In other words, they’re trying to figure out how to go full Emily Litella, do a total 180 and regulate these innocuous pieces of plastic just as they would a Browning Ma Deuce
The ATF is doing exactly what the NRA called for, not to mention certain manufacturers and forums probably support this as well.
This is the same way they tried to go after M855 ammo and made changes to 41f (I believe I’m not to read up on 41f)

Amazing how our government agencies can just redefine terms to fit their agenda. Such redefining of terms is a change of law and should require legislation to do so.
However...I'm not so certain our congress would not pass such legislation right now.

It would pass and Orange dude would sign it no matter how vaguely worded.

I don’t see how this doesn’t end up with people trying to ban all semi autos and firearms with adjustable stocks.
-
You can thank a great many gun owners for this.

I am watching NY and CT.
So far no real enforcement of the NY SAFE Act or the newer CT laws.
Less than 10% compliance rates in the Heart of Gun Grabber territory.
