Pretty cool video, boy how times have changed.

Yeah, when was the last time you saw shooting on the news, that wasn't a hit piece?

That was exactly what I meant when I wrote that. Truly sad and pathetic

In Commiefornia no less, lol
Looked it up and the range is still in operation today.

I like watching these shootings contests, different but neat.
Usually you have to find them online though, never on TV even during the olympics.
-
Look how excited the reporter was with the 10pt shot he made.

Find a local club and give it a try.
Old out of shape is a disadvantage.
A couple of times a year I try it if work schedule allows it.
The young kids shooting JROTC air rifles and also USA Shooting sanctioned ISSF small bore are amazingly patient.Club near me about 17 miles away.

My eyeballs don't deal with irons very well since my eye surgery. Handguns I can still do fine, but long sight radius just doesn't work.
-
I have some prescription eyeglasses that are lineless trifocal Zeiss lenses.
Sort of a gradual transition from close up magnification to distance acuity.
I have to get the Aperture just at the right spot then adjust the front globe to get on paper.
I put BRNO Apertures on my long barreled CZ Ultra Lux.
I don't have to shoot in the same class as the Annies. They run a Sporter / Vintage class for CMP 40X, Kimbers, wood stocked Anschutz, and similar.
Not my picture but it is set up like this one.

I respect the open sight discipline. I just don't enjoy it.
