Hebrews 9:27 says, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,”
My mind has been wandering to the “after death” verses for the last few days. A old lady that my family was very close to passed away and her funeral is tomorrow. She was married for 59 years, has three sons, and was one of the most caring women I have ever met. Yet the one fact about her I can tell you that matters most is that she was a Christian. At this point what else matters? At this point the only thing that really matters is that she was a faithful Christian.
Every one of us will walk the same valley that she walked through. Every one of us has an appointment with death that we will one day keep. It cannot be avoided. After death we will stand before God in judgment. That judgment cannot be avoided. At that point, the only thing that matters is, “am I right with God?” In all of the craziness of life don’t ever forget to put God first...for one day you will keep your appointment with death and stand before the all knowing creator in judgment.
