GOP-Led House Passes NRA-Backed Gun Bill

  • "The House has approved a Republican bill making it easier for gun owners to legally carry concealed weapons across state lines. The bill is the first gun legislation in Congress since mass shootings in Nevada and Texas killed more than 80 people.
The House approved the bill Wednesday, 231-198."

  • No one is saying whether it was combined with the “Fix NICS” bill.

Also the reaction of the the left wingers should tell anyone what they truly want, if it’s unspeakable to let us use our rights.

  • When has taking Rights from state and turning them over to feds ever been a good thing? Am I the only one who thinks this could go real bad In a few years? After this passes, all it takes is one liberal congress to change or eliminate chp’s All together.

Or maybe I am missing something. Hopefully I am. If so please enlighten me.

  • @dddoo7 I can totally see the concerns. However, the eternal optimist within me would like to think this will be positive for years to come!

  • @dddoo7 Next will be Uniform Standards testing for CCP.
    Mandatory training, National Database.

Not too different than how the CDL is for truckers.

Instead of physical examinations on a periodic basis, it will be psychological.

    Government only grows.

  • It’s not really a state rights issue.

States cant superceed rights guaranteed by the constitution. The Second Amendment should mean this isnt necessary, states have (constitutionally) no power to regulate it.

There’s also the “Full Faith and Credit Clause” (Atticle IV Section 1) which should also protect it. (Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.)

I don’t like that this is happening Legislatively, it should have been done through the courts and the courts should have said that states have to recognize other states CCW, but even before that they should have said forcing people to get a CCW infringes on their second amendment rights and is therefore unconstitutional. But th Supreme Court is filled with cowards and traitors and so is the senate and congress.

    This is my opinion anyways.

  • I'll believe it when I see it, hope I'm wrong! Got my Utah carry permit, hoping it would work in Cal someday!
